44. Edward Greenberry
(Littleberry) SOOTER SOOTEUR Jr.13
was born on 13 Jun 1840 in Barry Co. Missouri. He served in the military
on 1 Sep 1862 in Washington Co. Arkansas. He served at the Battle
of Lexington, Missouri under Gen. Sterling Price. He died on 19 Jan 1917 in
Benton Co ARK.. Obit of Benton Co. Ark. Vol. 5, 1917, pg. 358
Sooter, Green Berrty-Green Berry Sooter was born in Missouri June 13, 1840.
Most of his life was spent in Dade Co., ZMo. He came to Arkansas 38 years ago
and since then has resided near Gravette. he served three years in the Civil
War under Gens. Jos. Shelby and Sterling Price. He was twice married, first
to Madilina Steven in 1865 to which union were born 7 children, 5 of whom are
living. He was married to Vannie Shelly April 24, 1893. To this union were
born 7 children, 2 sons and their mother survive him. Mr. Sooter died Jan 19,
1917 of grippial pneumonia after 3 days illness, aged 76 years. He was converted
in early life the the cares of his life caused him to draw back from the Lord.
In Oct. 1915 he as saved and since when his testimonials and faithfulness to
the Lord have been the means of pleasure and happiness to his family and friends.
Just before he died he testified to a brightness of soul and a readiness to
meet his Maker. The funeral was connducted at Bethel Jan. 21 by Rev. Claude
Goodwin of the Holiness church where many friends were gathered who wish to offer
thier sympathy to the family. Gravette news-Herald 26 jan 1917 He was buried
in 1917 in BETHEL CEM, GRAVETTE, BENTON CO, ARK..14 Section# SW1-SW grave #6, next to Vannie Edward Greenberry

on 24 Apr 1865 in BENTON CO, ARK.. Ollie Elsavan
(Vannie) SHELLEY14 (daughter
of Thomas Perry SHELLEY and Mary Ann (Polly) WILLIAMS) was born on 14 Feb 1863.
She died on 16 Jun 1940. She was buried in 1940 in BETHEL CEM, GRAVETTE,
BENTON CO, ARK.. Edward Greenberry (Littleberry) SOOTER SOOTEUR Jr.
