2 CONC une 7, 1832; that he entered the service of the United States, and serv
2 CONC ed as herein stated.  He was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1760

2 CONC o Surry County, North Carolina when he was about ten years old in 1770; h

2 CONC ina as a private in Captain John Martin's Company of Rangers, continued i

2 CONC ntil the British came in at Charleston, he was drafted, and placed unde
2 CONC r the command of Captin Gains and Major Winston; started on the 2nd Mar
2 CONC ch, and crossed the Yadkin at the shallow ford, and joined Gen. Rutherf
2 CONC ord between Charleston and the Yadkin River' attachment then marched do
2 CONC wn the Yadkin, to the north of Rocky River, Major Martin was still with u
2 CONC s, and on this expedition I was commanded by Captain Davidson' we attac
2 CONC ked a party of British at Colston's Mills.  Captain Davidson received a w
2 CONC ound in his right; the enemy retreated and we took possession of the pl
2 CONC ace; remained there until Gen. Rutherford came up with the main army; G
2 CONC en. Rutherford then marched to the Cheraw, crossed the PeeDee and march
2 CONC ed to Camden between the cheraw and Camden joined Gen. Gates' in a day o
2 CONC r two was marched with a detachment of about six hundred men to join Ge
2 CONC n. Smpter' we joined him on the catawba River opposite Camden, on the m
2 CONC orning of Gate's defeat, after getting the news of the defeat, Sumpter m
2 CONC arched up the Broad River, we marched at a forced march two days and ni
2 CONC ghts, only stopping at noon for refreshments, until we came near the Ca
2 CONC tawba ford, and stopped; we were here overtaken by Col. Tarleton, and t

2 CONT "Saw you reply to a query posting in which you indicate that Abraham wa
2 CONC s born in NC circa 1722.  Actually there has been no documentation of w
2 CONC here he was born.  The first record of Abraham is in Bucks County, Pa. w
2 CONC here he married Martha Williams who was born in Bucks County, Pa. They w
2 CONC ere married about 1740.  For many years it was thought that his wife's m
2 CONC aiden name was Brissell, however, in recent years, information has foun
2 CONC d indicating that she was a Williams.  They livedin Bucks County till a
2 CONC fter the birth of their seven children.  They were Quakers and he was a m
2 CONC iller by trade.  They migrated to NC and were members of the Westfield Q
2 CONC uaker Meeting and are buried there in the Quaker graveyard.  Abraham di
2 CONC ed i n1816.  Their son John went on west and died in St. Francois, Miss
2 CONC ouri and is buried there.  He is my 4th great grandfather.  I am a dire
2 CONC ct descendent of his son, Joseph, who was most likely born in Stokes Co
2 CONC unty, NC circa 1782 and who was dismissed from the Westfield Quaker Mee
2 CONC ting in Nov., 1801 for marrying outside the fiath.  He had met and marr
2 CONC ied Mary Webb from Grayson County, Va. in 1801.  He lived most of his l
2 CONC ife with his in-laws and he and Mary had 14 children.  he fought in the w
2 CONC ar of 1812.  He was a farmer and died in Carroll County, Va. in 1875.  P
2 CONC art of Grayson County became Carroll County, Va. in 1842.  have never b
2 CONC een able to find out how he met Mary Webb since it is not that close to S
2 CONC tokes County, NC.

2 CONT Abraham Sr. moved his family from Bucks Co. Pa to Surry Co. N.C. in 176
2 CONC 7 where he died on January 16 1816.  Some branches of the family moved t
2 CONC o South Carolina about 1800.  From South Carolina, Isaac moved to Hall C
2 CONC o. Georgia wher he died.  Two of Isaac's grandsons, ABRAHAM and Isaac m
2 CONC igrated to Blount Co. Alabama and established the town of Horton which i
2 CONC s now in Marshall Co.  They built a mill complex on the Little Warrior R
