Oscar Ray SOOTER SOOTEUR was born on 19 May 1895.37 He died on 26 Dec 1982 in MISSOURI. obit dec. 29, 1982 Oscar sooter Services for Oscar ray Sooter, 87 Goodman route 1, a former Joplin resident, who died at 2:30 o.m. Sunday at Gravette, Arkansas Medical Center following a month's illness, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Joplin. Elder Lester Lay and the Rev. Charles Musgrove will officiate, Burial will be in Osborn Memorial Cemetery, Joplin, under direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary Joplin. Pallbearers will be Carl Gurley, Max Honeyball, Leo Irick, Alvi Carlstrom, Home Tedder and Virgil Vanghn. Mr. Sooter was born May 19, 1895 at Lamar, Arkansas and had resided most of his life in Joplin. He moved to the Goodman area three years ago. Before his retirement in 1962 he had been employed by Carlous Hardware in Joplin for more than 50 years He was a member of the Reorganized Chujrch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He married Pearl L. Whitehill on Sept. 10, 1978, she survivors. Also surviving are three grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. He was born in JOPLIN, JASPER CO., MISSOURI.
