later married David Olney Sherwood). They had 5 children together;- James Alexander
(m.Tennessee Hodge), Martha A "Mat" (m. Willis Oliver Cromwell Sherwood),
Mary Jane Sooter (married to John Wesley Sherwood), Nancy and William Leonard
Jr. (m. Sarah Jane Smith).

Olney Sherwood died at the home of O.D. Crosby four miles west of Anderson.
thursday Nov. 20th. Mr. Sherwood had been a resident of McDonald County 38 years
and had he lived till Jan. 21, 1913 he would have been 80 years.
David Olney Sherwood and Margaret Elizabeth Russell Sooter Sherwood were married
1 May 1873 (2nd marriage for both).
David's first wife was Priscilla DeButts married 23 Sept 1852, she died June
1872.
Margaret's first husband was William Leonard Sooter Sr. married 1 Sept 1854,
he was bushwacked 11 Sept 1863 while returning home from the war.
(William Sooter was a Confederate in Co. H, 1st Cherokee Mounted Rifles Volunteers
and David Olney Sherwood was in the Union, Co. M, 6 Missouri S.M. Cav. 13 Jan
1864 discharged...I don't think they ever met.)
David's son John Welsey Sherwood married Margaret's daughter "Mamie"
Mary Jane Sooter, married 1881.
(John Wesley and Mamie's children were Olney, Ida Wilson, George, and Lillie
sherwood.)

Militia Cavalry, under Capt. McAfee, 13 june 1864 discharged because of an abdominal
hernia, caused by saddle horn.
He died on 20 Nov 1912 in Anderson, McDonald Co. Missouri.32 Obit: Olney Sherwood died at the home of O.D. Crosby
