Lenora Tennison, 76 of 303 Hickory St., died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, after a short illness.
Mrs. Tennison was born July 31, 1909, at Gravette, Ark. She had lived most of her life in McDonald County until moving to Neosho several years ago. She was a member of the Goodman First Baptist church, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Gravette, Atrk. She married John J. Tennison on Nov. 26, 1935. He died in December 1981.
Survivors include a duaghter, Alice Forbis, Kansas City; a brother Jack Russell, Gravette, Ark; six sisters, Beulah Gillman, Carthage, Vina McCurdy,. Rogers, Ark. Stella Botts, Kansas City, Bessie Brown, Peculiar, Mo. Mattie Johnson, Bentonville, Ark., and Molly Joyner, Little Rock, Ark.; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at the Goodman First Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Fortner will officiate.
Burial, under the direction of Ozark Funeral Home, Anderson, will be in Peace Valley Cemetery, Anderson. Pallbearers will be Calvin Herrin, Mike Johnson, David Johnson, Andy McCurdy, Bill McCurdy and Allan Gilman.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9pm today. She was buried in 1986 in Peace Valley Cemetery, Anderson Mo.152

John Tennison-Goodman, Mo. John J. Tennison, 79, Kansas City, a former Goodman resident, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at his home after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep.
mr. Tennison was born May 9, 1902 at McNatt. he had served as the mcDonald County Sheriff for eight years and also was an area arctioneer and meat inspector for the State of Missouri. he moved to Kansas City three years ago from Goodman. he was a member of Stella, Masonic Lodge AF & AM.
he married lenora Russell Nov. 26, 1935, at Pineville. She survives. Additional survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Alice Forbin, Kansas City; and a grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Goodman First Baptist Church. The Rev. Leroy Ruede and the Rev. Buel Buzzard will officiate. Burial will be in Peace Valley Cemetery, Anderson.
Pallbearers will be Jack Barclay, Clifford Masters, Henry Howard, Mide Hubbard, Claude Garber and Wilson Brodie.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Ozark Funeral Home, Anderson. He was a Sheriff for 8 years in McDonald Co., Missouri. He was an area auctioneer and meat inspector in State of Missouri. While Sherriff he would avoid putting Benton Co. Ark. russell's in jail for intoxication, instead he would take them home and put them to bed at his house.
